Google Chrome Beats Internet Explorer For A Day

Everyone in today’s day is so much addicted to the internet that they hardly come to know how their time gets spent on the internet. The internet explorer has till date been the best internet browsing platform and according to reports of the Daily Mail it was found that for a day the internet explorer was pushed to the second position by Google chrome. Though it was only for a day it was the greatest achievement for Google.

Today we see there is competition everywhere. There is competition among companies, web-browsers, websites etc. when we talk about web-browser we see that there are so many web browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera that are competing with each other to gain the first position but unfortunately internet explorer has always been the most popular web browser.  It was indeed luck for Google chrome which just for a day took the first position.

Many people prefer internet explorer as whenever a person buys a computer the browser is installed. In case of other browsers they need to be downloaded from the internet.  It is true that other browsers give lots of options for web browsing compared to explorer. But, few people who do not have any knowledge about other web browsers always prefer explorer.

It has been noted that chrome’s figures tend to increase during weekends as people browse it from their homes. Home users thus choose Google’s chrome over Microsoft’s Explorer. Whereas the use of internet explorer increases during weekdays as a lot of corporate people make use of it. The internet explorer which has been popular since the year 1999 still proves to stand in the number one position.

Let’s see whether some other browser tries to go ahead of explorer in the near future.

Smartphone Password Manager Not Secure

In a survey conducted by the researchers of the ElcomSoft company evaluated 17 password managers for  Blackberry and iphone and found out that they weren’t secure. The ElcomSoft Company which is a Russian based software company specializes in computer security and data recovery applications. In the  research conducted by the researchers it was noted that entering a strong password for a Smartphone is way too difficult than entering one from a pc keyboard. When people constantly type their passwords form a keyboard their fingers learn it but that’s not quite possible in case of Smartphone’s. Users therefore find is difficult to set up complex passwords for Smartphone applications.

The results were quite surprising as out of 17 applications which were evaluated 7 apps had passwords that were either unencrypted or poorly encrypted. This made it easy for recovering and made the complexity of the main password irrelevant. Although the length of the passwords varied from product to product they could very easily be exposed within a day. The many applications which were evaluated were the iOS version of lastpass 1.72 premium, Blackberry Wallet, Blackberry password keeper. Though these applications encrypt their data well their passwords too could be easily exposed.

This simply states that phone users can no more rely on password managers because they tend to crack them easily. They cannot protect the phone data; hence users must start to sue their phone’s built-in protection to secure their phone passwords. iOs phone users must set up strong password which is very complex and the back-up password too should be complex. If you really want to secure Smartphones then make sure you don’t plug your phone to untrusted computers.

Blackberry phone users must set up device password or turn media card encryption off. Apart from these BB phone users can also set it to encrypt using the overall device key. This phone user must perform these tasks to stop a skilled hacker from analyzing their device password through the media card.

Now, that you know that Smartphone password mangers are not secure make sure you take the necessary precautions before using your Smartphone.
